This year, I'm going to give the natural look another try. The most important thing is the apearance and true health of the skin. Tanning may look great but its a VERY BAD habbit for your skin. Which will you have, looking great for a few months or looking amazing years to come; I choose the latter. I'll admit, I love a tan, but I'd rather it be fake than burn my skin. The way I look at it, is you can wash away a bad fake tan, but no matter how much u scrub, those wrinkles are not going to wash off. So, with that said, for the past few months I have stopped the fake tan, yes I do make walls jealous, my white skin is serious competition.

Makeup, how I do love theeI love a daytime smokey eye, actually I love any smokey eye. However, this year I will try to tone it down, I dont promise, though I will try. I've left my foundation behind, I secretely use it once in a while, and have lowered the amount of eyeshadow i use. No, I will not give up the eyeliner or mascara, or the lipstick...those are here to stay...forever :D

Hair.....I've been chemically "altering" the color of my hair for years; to the point where I couldn't remember what my natural color was. I have very, I mean very, dry hair and in an effort to try to tame it i have stopped dying it. There are days, when I miss that hair dye, but I'll admit I do not miss the maintenance, the ruined pillowcases or towels. So as for now, natural still rules.

I have somewhat of a love for lipsticks, a small collection, but I love all of them. I guess that's because I am a strong believer that when it comes to makeup (at least for me) quality reigns over quantity. I hate having all that makeup and never touching it, I feel like its such a waste. Now don't get me wrong I admire those that collect makeup, and I completely respect their collections. Me on the other hand, I like it but it's not something I collect. And if I am not a collector then it's pointless for me to have a ton of makeup. Makeup for me is a phase, but lipstick......now that's love. I have a few and for the exception of one, they are all pinks; the other is a peach. I love bold pink lips, to me they look very edgy and fresh (paired with a neutral eye). However, I am going off topic. I am sure you have probably heard by now about these lipsticks and let me tell you......it's all true. From the beautiful packaging to the amazing colors. I have two, the famous Lingerie Pink and Frivolous Pink. They are absolutely gorgeous colors and I adore wearing them, I like the fact that they are matte, no shimmer, yet they do not drain the moisture from my lips. I absolutely adore them.
Since I was such a fan of the Voluptes I thought I should give the Pure Shines a try. I have the color Pink Diamond, and its well....umm sheer. It's a beautiful color but it goes on sheer with a tint, its great for layering but I feel that it would have been the perfect lipstick if it was more pigmented. I should have picked the other one I know,...but I fell for the color :D. The packaging is a favorite, you push the top and pop comes the lipstick. Another plus is that they are light weight. Overall, love them all.

The Lip Balm Story

As a lipstick lover, lip balm is indispensable. If I want my lipstick to be vibrant and flake free, then my lips NEED to be moisturized. I used to be a gloss girl, that is until I discovered the pigmentation of lipsticks, it was indeed....love at first swipe. However, that's a different story :D... I am picky when it comes to my lip balm, I want it to be natural, with a pleasant fragrance, easy to use (in a tube, pots aren't very sanitary) and not feel sticky. That's quite a list, but I am hoping that there is a lip balm out there that meets my "requirements".

I have tried quite a few, too many to remember, however one has impressed me even though it comes in a pot. I am talking about Korres Lip Butter, I had two of these little pots in the flavor Guava (clear). I know, I know, I just said I want it in a tube form, .....if only they made this in a tube form! It's amazing, its made to be a natural product, and it seriously melts into your lips like butter. They are amazingly soft and feel moisturized without feeling too gooey ( my scientific term) :D. There are a few flavors and they give a nice subtle hint of color, which is an added bonus. I went for the Guava because of the scent, its amazing. I would put it on just because of the scent...my lips owe that scent a lot.

This one is soooooo close to being the best lip balm ever, looks like the lip balm story will continue.

When it comes to hair...

Do you splurge? Its not always convenient to head to the salon to buy a new bottle of shampoo, or conditioner. It may not be worth it at all when we have drugstores that have numerous shelves overflowing with such products at nearly a fraction of the price. But when saving money do you actually damage your hair? I have been coloring my hair for ages, I can't even describe how much damage my hair has sustained. Unfortunately it's a habit that I cannot break, I love my dark hair :D, and why should anyone be forced to sacrifice color for the sake of hair health? I have seen commercials that advertise that their range has shampoo formulated for curly, straight, fine and colored hair. Umm, HELOO! what if I have curly & (here's a shock) colored hair?...needless to say my curiosity led me on an experiment.

I have tried numerous drugstore brands and the results for me have always been the same, my hair ends up dry and feels like its wire, not hair. The cleaning ingredients in those shampoos are too harsh for my hair. They clean my hair too well, stripping it of its oils, which means I have to pile on the products.

But its summer......I don't want to spend all that time on my hair just to put it in a ponytail because its too hot. And if i let it air dry with no products.....let's not even go there. So I gave salon products a try. And yes, I noticed a difference. My hair is sooooooo much softer, I have noticed less frizz and I have been able to skip the hair products.

Of course, this is not to say that drugstore hair products are horrible, if fact there are some products that do a wonderful job, like hairsprays. All I am saying is that for my hair, those shampoos and conditioners did not work.

I absolutely adore this picture, its an ad from a jewelry company Meli Melo (spring). Its very...well pink, and over the top sweet. I love the rose petals and the jewelry they chose works great with the theme. Something about this picture makes me smile, maybe because it has that parissiene feel that I have always adored.

It's Only Natural

This year when it comes to beauty, the focus will be natural. This is not necessarily a fashion prediction, but more of a goal. I usually embrace the fake tan, fake nails, etc. but this year the goal is to take better care of my skin and hair.

Coloring and heat damage the hair, so my theory behind it is, cut all of the damage and start taking care of it properly. I have heard about numerous treatments that can be applied to the hair. Two examples are the olive oil and honey mask which are said to be great at adding shine and moisturizing. Honey is also a great skin care mask. With that said, I will do my best to apply heat protectant every time and try to work with my natural texture.

This is one goal that I have tried numerous times to accomplish, that is natural makeup. No matter how many times I try, I don't like it :D. I prefer the makeup look, so it looks like makeup. I have tried the neutral shades, the peaches, soft pinks and chocolate, yet I always go back to my dramatic eyes. I usually focus the attention on the eyes. I will occasionally be inspired by a bold pink lip, but the eyes will always be the main focus. This means that my natural makeup will look like I am wearing makeup which to me is only natural. :D

In her collection there is that mixture of romance and edge that I absolutely love. The materials are light an airy and give off such a luxurious feel. The color palette is of course, pink and black which are the best colors to represent this mixture of styles. The shoes are amazing and I love the architectural details in some of the garments.

I cannot even count how many stories I have heard regarding sleeping in your makeup. I know that we all get tired, but taking off your makeup is more important than putting it on. Make sure that you give yourself time to properly clean your face, it doesn't matter if you do not wear a full face of foundation. Makeup needs to be removed in the evening. You want to clean off the makeup (remember-no soap, it dries the face), baby lotion works great, be careful not to get it in your eye. After that you can use a gentle exfoliant, make sure its gentle for everyday use. There are some exfoliators that can be to harsh and should only be used once a week. The final step is to moisturize (no matter what your skin type). Think of yourself as an artist, you want your makeup to accentuate your features, therefore as an artist you need a clean canvas to express your ideas and create beautiful works of art.

Fall trends are one of the best! They are the closest to my style, just looking at them I feel 10x more inspired. I love the layering, the jewelry, the bags...oh I simply adore it all! Scarfs are still in trend for fall, which is great because I have a bunch of them. I usually use them as a pop of color. I think I have mentioned this before but I am absolutely in love with jackets. I use them all the time, they look so chic when paired with a gorgeous silk scarf. It creates the contrast of rock and romantic which again, I love so much. However, I will add that I try to stay away from scarfs that have patterns; I prefer solid colors.

How amazing is the look above? The over the knee boots give it that extra edge.

This look by Gucci is jaw-dropping, I can stare at it for hours. Its a wonderful play on textures.

Boots of course, the fall staple, are everywhere. I must say, I normally would not go for such a trend. In the past I passed on it because I felt that they were not at the level that I wanted them to be. This year, they have made quite a statement, the more current styles are easily paired with jeans as well as with skirts.

Saved the best for last, I adore....love LV. This picture embodies the fall trends that I am absolutely in love with, having them all in one picture makes it even better :D.

I am curious to see what will be popular in the winter. So far I have not noticed anything that has captured my interest. However for spring, I am definitely looking forward to some neon yellow!!!!!

I absolutelly adore this collection. I find it so inspiring, I would wear each and every single one of these pieces. I mentioned my fall esentials a while back, the picture above shows some possibilities when it comes to combining patterns and solid colors to create a very modern look.

Accessory overload, but i still love it. If theres one thing that a black dress allows you to do its add drama. Its the perfect canvas to make colors pop and such a garment can be dressed up or down.

How gorgeous is this picture, I love the fact that they used fabric as background. The outfit on the right is my favorite of the three. However, I do love the one on the left with the copper leggings and beautiful white top. I like the fact that the belt balances the leggings but the shoes are kept neutral.

This is what my staple look is, I loooooove jackets, especially fitted ones.....let the collection begin :D

I dont think I have to say that this is another picture that I love, I seriously, without any hesitation would wear all three.

So I am super excited about this collection, its given me so many new ideas. I am really starting to get excited about fall shopping....

My fall essentials

The garments are by La Redoute and Liliana Turoiu Udrea.I have heard that this fall the trend will be 80s. I think that its a fun trend however, some garments such as the bright blue leggings might not be on my essential list. I don't always like to follow the "set" trends I much more prefer to follow whatever it is that I am liking at the time. Simple t-shirts are at the top of my list which i just want to drape with numerous pieces of jewelry or a bright scarf. Black leggings are still on my list because besides the fact that they are so versatile they can be quite comfortable. I still love my gladiators, and probably always will, especially metallic ones (copper)...perfect for fall.

I am loving the polished look, very feminine. I realize that i tend to say that I adore a lot of things :D, the truth is my taste in clothing really does depend on my mood....which explains why I love so many designers.

The above look is the ultimate fall look for me. Beautiful scarfs, that have exploded this year, they are everywhere. A very classic jacket, such as navy, white, beige or black, with minor details....to increase versatility. To complete the look, very comfortable and flat boots.

I have stated before that I love jewelry, especially bold pieces. Lately I've noticed that I am liking bracelets and rings more than my usual necklaces. But as you probably guessed i like bold rings as well as unique bracelets. :D A few days ago I was abe to catch up on The Rachel Zoe Project, i missed the premiere. I wasnt very interrested in the show last season, but this season I feel that its more of a must see. Maybe its because, im starting to realize how much garments mean to me and how much i truly adorre them, whatever it is... I spent two hours watching the show. I must say that I liked it, but she makes me want to shop. What I adore about her is her taste in jewelry, which has kind of inspired me to restart a jewelry collection.

In terms of color

My favorite look is a smoky eye, for me such a look is not strictly for night wear. I like bold makeup just as much as I love bold jewelry and color; its a matter of expression. However, lately I have been seeing a different take on the famous "smoky eye" and I have to say that I really like it.

Its refreshing to see chocolate, copper and broze shades used to create this look. It creates a more natural look yet it still draws attention to the eyes; looks amazing on green eyes. This paired with mate soft pink lips, rosy cheeks and soft waves creates the perfect romantic look.
I am also impressed by the smoky eye with color (such as the purple look) I have seen it done in navy (breathtaking), and in greens. The artist did an amazing job with showing how awe-inspiring this look is, I love the use of black eyeliner to balance the color and really put the emphasis on the eyes. ts very edgy yet feminine. The model is also sporting the best pink lips, I am adoring the color. I would like to try this look, but translate it to day time. So instead of the deep purple I would use a matte brown and as a highlight a champagne shade, to provide a bit of shimmer.

I also like the look of nude lips, I think they look excellent when paired with a daring eyeliner/shadow such as aqua or turquoise, or any color for that matter.

Tanning Bed In a Tube

Another Too Faced product, I really like their products, all of the products that I have tried have impressed me. I really love this instant bronze/gradual tanner. First of all it smells amazing, unlike other self tanners that smell like chemicals. This one has a very tropical scent, I'm not sure how to describe it, like coconuts with lime, some hint of coffee.
I love the packaging very cute, it comes out like a caramel color that is packed with shimmer. You don't need any gloves as this will not stain your hands, but I still recommend washing your hands after each application. The first time you apply it you won't notice a very big difference in color, however your skin will glow. It gives the most natural glow, very subtle and very bronze muse like. If you keep layering it you will see a difference in color and the gorgeous shimmer makes your tan stunning. It does fade after showering, but that's not really a problem for me, the smell of it more than makes up for the longevity of the tan.

Sun Lesson

So a few days ago I decided to take advantage of the beautiful weather by going to a pool, as u can imagine I ended up with getting a very bad sunburn ,....ouch. Anyway, once I got home I knew i needed something to soothe the pain. First thought.....aloe. The only one that I could think of was my Gel Baby Oil which has some aloe. I slathered it on my legs, the burn did not quickly fade away but I have noticed that within a few hours the burning sensation was gone.

This baby oil deserves some credit as it is very useful. I initially got it as a makeup remover, while it does an amazing job of removing all makeup and leaving the skin super soft; it also makes a great moisturizer, ....it is a bit oily (baby oil :D) and it will not quickly sink into the skin, however once it does it leaves the skin very soft. Its also amazing on elbows.

I have tried many remedies for sunburned skin (such as milk, yogurt and sour cream), not my favorite. This has reminded me why I love fake tanning. Be prepared for more fake tanning posts as I am taking this as an opportunity to see what products can deliver a beautiful and natural tan.

My Fall Makeup

While its technically summer, its around the time when I start thinking about fall makeup and trends. Usually fall makeup is inspired by the changing weather and new colors. The bronze colors that were popular in the summer, change to copper for autumn. Lips are now the focus, therefore we see deep reds, soft browns and gorgeous plums. Nail color changes from neon to deeper shades, same tones as the lips. Flawless matte skin is a must for me this fall. While I love dark nailpolish, cholcolate or berry shades are perfect for fall they look so chic, I will continue to love bright nail polish. This year peach and coral shades really caught my attention. I think they will be easy to carry on into fall since the colors are close to "fall tones."

Red lips, usually come back every fall. Don't forget to exfoliate the lips and to moisturise them, lipstick will be easier to apply and will stay on better if the lips are not flaking. Matt or glossy, red lips and bare eyes are a classic.

Even though this is more of a summer look, very beachy/ bronzy, I just love the way her skin glows.

Contrast and Color

When it comes to makeup, i don't think that there should be many rules. However, one of my makeup pet peeves is the colors used when you want to make your eyes stand out. I don't think that using the same shadow color as your natural eye color has any benefits. I actually believe you are doing the exact opposite. An example would be if you were wearing an outfit that was all one color. No one would notice the details on the handbag or how amazing the shoes are if they are all the same color. As the model below is, she has beautiful eyes, try putting a lavender or a soft pink eyeshadow and see how her eye color just pops. To make eyes pop you need to use contrast, the opposite color on the color wheel. For example I think that green eyes look amazing with purple or lavender shades. Blue eyes are amazing with coral shades, even gold or copper tones. Brown eyes look breathtaking with emerald or soft mint eyeshadow.

This is not saying that since you have blue eyes you cannot wear blue eyeshadow, or that if you have brown eyes you cannot wear bronze or copper shades. But if you want to make anything stand out you have to use a contrast.

Current Fashion Love

I am loving color, now more than ever. Its a breath of fresh air from the chic all white and black outfits. Especially jewel tone colors, theres something so beautiful about these rich colors and I am hoping to see more of them in the fall. What I like even more is the combination of color, I for one don't think that there should be a rule when playing with color, I don't think you need your nails to match your handbag or shoes. This outfit, has a matching belt and bag, but its needed to balance the pattern on the dress. I think my rule when playing with print is that you need a solid color to break up the pattern. In this case its the belt. The dress is the focus and therefore the rest of the accessories cannot overpower it.

While I do love color, I think that you can never make a mistake with pastels, white, cream or beige; they are staples.

Bare Skin

A while ago, I became a fan of Bare Minerals. I love the products and the concept behind them

I have tried mostly face products from this brand and I must say that they are of great quality. I loved the foundation, it gave me an airbrush look, flawless and matte skin. However, my problem with it was if water got anywhere near my face, or if it was raining, it would take off the makeup. But other than that, they are very easy to blend and have a very natural finish. Even though it is a powder, the coverage is unbelievable. Depending on the product you get little or no shimmer, just pure pigment. I love the colors that they have, especially for blushes. The one product that i did love from this brand was their bronzer, Faux Tan. I have picked this up twice, its great to use when I have a bit of a tan. I can't really use it in the winter because on my skin tone it can look a bit orang-y. It's easy to use to add a little shimmer on the shoulders or on the legs for that sun kissed look. Even though I haven't tried it, I have been thinking if I should try mixing it with lotion to create somewhat of a bronzer. I'm not sure if it would work but it would make this product more multi-purpose than it already is.

Lash Injection

I am taking a moment to talk about a mascara that has always been at the top of my list. As you can guess .....I adore it. This is one product that I find I have no problems with clumping (even though I don't mind it). Its formulated to go on the lashes like little tubes, that elongate the lashes. I find that even though this one is not waterproof, I have no problems with it during the hot weather. It never smudges under my eyes and its probably the only mascara that I would coat my lower lashes with....since i know it wont smudge :D. They also have a waterproof version, or at least that's what I think Pinpoint mascara is for. As the name states its very precise, even the tube is slender, and the brush is incredibly precise because it has small bristles. That's mainly the reason that I haven't picked up that one. The brush seems to me like it would take some time to get used to. The one thing that I would say is a bit of a con for Lash Injection, is the fact that its difficult to take off. Those little tubes really love hanging on to the lashes. I believe there is a product called Lash Injection Antidote that is formulated to easily remove this mascara.

Another thing that I love about it is, that unlike any other mascara, this one to me seems to smell like oranges when I open it. I'm not sure if its supposed to be scented, but to me it smells great :D

I absolutely adore him. From the first day that I saw him on project runway, I loved his style and his garments are absolutely stunning. This super talented young designer is sure to become a top name in the industry.

His clothes are very modern, and trendy. He has a very specifc taste when it comes to clothing, I must say that he continues to impress me with his designs. Im very excited to see his collection with Payless this fall. I am sure that he will not fail to impress me once again.

Smells like......COFFEE!!

I have never been a big fan of scrubs, but they are very handy in the fake-tan process :D. Skin needs to be well exfoliated if you want an even application. So I came across this product. I wasn't expecting it to be amazing, I picked it up last minute, what intrigued me was the name. However, I must say that I love this product. The scent of this product is irresistible and mouth watering. If I was to describe it it would be coffee mixed with a lot of sugar or it kind of reminds me of tiramisu (one of my favorite deserts).The color is a rich chocolate mixed with visible sugar particles...delicious :D. Once it is rubbed into the skin the sugar particles are the only ones visible. If you have sensitive hands I recomend sometype of a glove because these little particles can be harsh on your hands, they do not dissolve quickly. After your skin is left incredibly smooth and coffee scented..which I love.

The scent is also available as a body wash and body butter, If you are not a fan of Brazilian nut or if the scent of coffee is not your taste, they also offer original Shea, coconut lime, Hawaiian kukui, and almond & honey. Its marketed as more of a natural product. I was trying to stay away from scrubs that use synthetic beads to exfoliate, natural ones that have natural exfoliants are better for the environment. It is a big tub, therefore you get a lot of product, be careful not to get any water in the container, it will ruin the consistency of the product.

Skin Care

A few months ago I was talking about Philosophy's facial cleanser, I was almost certain that since it was advertised as gentle, it would not irritate my skin. However, after a few uses I have noticed that I was reacting to the product. It irritated my skin. It had a nice lather, little to no scent and left the skin soft. I did not use this as an eye makeup remover, because for me it didn't remove any of it. I was then advised to try Pond's cold cream. I did a bit of research and found that that cream may be a little to heavy for my skin type (dry-combination). I checked out a nearby drugstore and found out that they have a makeup remover version of it, and that's the one that I picked upIt has a very creamy texture, I have been using this one for months and I barely scratched the surface. There is enough product to last me a few years. I only use this product to remove eyemakeup, as I dont wear foundation that often. I use about a pea size amount of product and gently rub the product over my makeup. After a few seconds the makeup seems to have melted and it is easily wiped off.

Signature Style

While I adore everything that has to do with style, from the hair to the shoes, I will always love my sunglasses. I have always collected them, I can pretty much accessorize any outfit with them :D. I have them everywhere, a summer day does not feel complete without them. During the summer makeup has a tendency to slip off, or if you are swimming and not a fan of waterproof mascara.....sunglasses are pretty much amazing at covering up a summer face. Not to mention the fact that they protect your eyes against the sun's rays, and protect the delicate skin around the eyes from getting burned.

There have been numerous trends when it comes to sunglasses, the big dramatic ones, and now the aviators; which I am currently in love with. I think they can look so chic with a ponytail or a cute up-do...very casual, perfect for summer.

They are without a doubt a signature of mine, they are a must when it comes to accessories for me. When I go into stores that's probably the first place I head to :D.

So the question is..whats your signature? Is it that lipstick that you bought at least six times, that bag that no matter how many seasons ago it came out it will always have a place in your heart, or is is that pair of heels that just seems to fit every outfit.

Can it be more obvious that we love, need and must have mascara? It's one of those items that you must use before you leave the house, forget the lipgloss or foundation...truly natural is not natural without mascara. I have tried numerous mascaras, as I am sure everyone has. Depending on what results we want we always have that one mascara that we adore. Yet, that does not stop our search from finding the perfect mascara. The one that in one layer lengthens, curls and adds volume. The secret to finding the one for you, is the brush. If the bristles on the brush are fine and precise, that mascara is great for lengthening and gives a more natural effect, even less clumps. Brushes that have a lot of bristles are best for adding volume, since they tend to capture and coat all the lashes. Even better there are now mascaras that have vitamins to keep our natural lashes healthy, as well as mascaras that have two-steps (primes/mascara).

Do not add any type of mixture/water to the mascara. You will only ruin its formula, it will not stop your mascara from flaking or make it easier to use. If your mascara is flaking, it may be time to get a new one, as you know you can only keep it for about two-three months. Another tip, do not wipe the excess mascara (on the wand) on the edge of the tube, you have exposed it to air and you do not want to contaminate the rest of the product. If there's one thing that I admire ...its personal style. In terms of fashion and trends never completely follow them. Instead tailor the trend to fit your taste. A designer's vision is just that....his vision. The designer is there to inspire you...not there to create your style. If you are undecided about your style, its ok to draw inspiration, just don't be a walking imitation of someone else's vision.

Start with your favorite colors, what colors make you smile. Go on to patterns/ fabrics, do you like flowers, animal print, solid colors or a mixture of textures. The style of garment, in what do you feel more comfortable. Last but not least is the statement accessory. If you love handbags or watches, or have an infinite love for shoes then make sure that they are the stars of your wardrobe. Sick to what you love, after all it is your style.

Personal style is what makes you memorable, its you....people tend to remember memorable styles, who knows maybe you might inspire someone . Think of your favorite celebrities, they have their style down to the last stitch.

This collection was presented at Bucharest Fashion Week. Out of all of the collections that I have seen, this is the one that I adore. I am in love with the garments, they are absolutely stunning

The colors that were used in this collection were jewel toned, a trend that I have seen in many collections. It is something new, because we are used to seeing bright colors for summer collections. I am impressed :D

Makeup is one of those things that you can never have too much of. There is always a new shade a new product that you just have to have. Soon you have a full bag ...drawer :D of makeup....or if you have been collecting makeup for quite a while, you are probably looking for new creative storage methods. Before you start hanging shelves take a good look at your makeup.

Old makeup should not be kept or be put anywhere on your face. They damage the skin and are unsafe. They may not come with expiration labels but you should be aware that makeup, unlike diamonds, does not last forever.

Anti-Wrinkle Creams
They last between 3 months to a year.....the reason is that the antioxidants in these creams tend to oxidize easily.

The Lush store smells amazing, however some might find the scent a bit too strong, that is because the scent is present even ten feet away from the door. I have been reading quite a bit about their products and I have heard some great reviews.

The store is amazing, you literally don't know where to look because everything grabs your attention. It smells incredible in there so you have to be very close to the product to be able to sense its scent. There were so many to choose from, there were ones that smelled like honey, or like peppermint or lemon which in the shower will quickly awake I picked up Sultana and a bath bomb that I absolutely adore, it smells so fresh I can't put it down. Sultana is more of a soap that has little pieces of fruit that I am guessing will eventually fall of the soap, I wonder if they are meant to be the exfoliating part of the soap. The bath bomb is meant to be enjoyed during .....a bath, it is supposed to turn your water pink (downside it may leave some residue on your bathtub) but the scent is supposed to make up for that :D.

It's well known that scent is the strongest tie to memory, out of all our senses the sense of smell has incredible powers. That is also mainly how we pick our favorite fragrances. A particular fragrance can remind you of that one summer morning, the fresh summer breeze, the endless flowers in a garden or the delicious taste of a fruit. You pick your fragrance according to your favorite memory. I guess that is why I don't believe in a signature scent. It's great that you have a perfume that you will always adore, keep it in stock. However, don't limit yourself, because you might miss out on some great fragrances. You should have one for each of your moods, when you are feeling feminine (flowers) or want to feel fresh (citrus).

A scent is very personal, very unique to you. The reason is that a fragrance reacts with your body's chemistry to create your scent. That is why you want to always test the fragrance on your skin, to see how the scent will develop. If you smell it on a tester or ask someone about that fragrance you might end up not liking the fragrance. The first reason is, the tester has no additional chemistry therefore you will smell the fragrance in pure form. The second reason, just because it smells great on someone else it doesn't mean on you it will smell the same. That is why taking your time and testing the fragrances properly is the best way of making sure you will pick one that you will love.

If I were to describe her style I would say it was more towards a modern romantic. Very feminine, but with an edge, it suits her very well.

She has an impressive taste in clothing, Ive nothiced that she mixes various pieces, textures and colors to create her unique look.

The packaging is great, the plastic has a real glass-like appearance, very light and its great because it lets you clearly see the amount of product in the container. This color is called Violet, I would describe it as a beautiful raspberry that has a bit of a metallic shine, silver reflects. As soon as you open it, you can sense the scent of vanilla cake, which fades quickly once you have applied the product to your lips. I normally would not pick such a dark color, but it can be as sheer or as intense as you like, it all depends on application. It feels very light on the lips, your lips won't stick together, but your hair will stick to your lips, but that is the case with more glosses. The thicker the consistency the higher the staying power. Overall I think it's a great gloss.

The chic just got well....chic-er.. :D, adore the textures and the mix of fabrics, as well as the variety in this collection. These are pictures from their website and I picked these because these are the ones that stood out to me.

Dolce & Gabbana have some stunning garments and there is no doubt about that, but for some reason these stood out.

I am a big fan of these designers, they are as always.....inspirational.

My inspiration, I absolutely adore her, she has fantastic taste in clothing. She is the assistant stylist at Vogue Paris.

A few weeks ago I was perusing a very popular fashion site when I stumbled upon a picture of Geraldine. I immediately took note of her style, and was interested in discovering more. I am super impressed by her level of taste and her chic-ness ( if that's even a word :D) I am in love with all of the outfits that she has worn, they are so simple yet there is a presence about them. Needless to say, I have a feeling there will be more posts about her :D.

Philosophy Cleanser

I had read numerous reviews about this product. Many loved the fact that it was gentle on their skin, it left it soft and moisturised. Others dissagreed and added that it was too "gentle", it did not remove their makeup properly.

I have used this for about two weeks, I cannot say that I love it, but then again I cannot say it was awful. It's an ok product as far as I am concerned. It has a pleasant scent, however I could not easily describe it. The cons of the product are certaily that it is time consuming ( 1 min for it to start cleaning) and I found that it did not remove all of my eye makeup. I do like the fact that it is gentle and it does not irritate my dry skin. Which is a big plus, because it doesn't strip my face of its natural oils, which would do more damage to the skin.

Pink Venus (Lustre)

Looks very bright in the picture, its not photographed very easily, its a lustre so the glitter particles catch the flash. Its more of a deeper pink, in the picture it looks very bubble gum pink. Still its a beautiful color, and i find that its very easy to intensify the color, there might be some fallout of glitter, but I think the color is worth it. I usually mix this with a very soft brown for an easy and chic day look. The only downside is the fallout, that's probably the downside to lustres. I like the color, I also think that its better to pat on the color rather than sweep it across the lid, that way you minimize the fallout. I think it would also work as a cheek highlighter.

Mmm, guava

This body butter is by Korres. It is without a doubt one of the best body butters that I have used. The scent is intoxicating (positive :D) I instantly think of a tropical vacation every time i use this. I never thought guava smelled soo good, its addicting. Because of this product I bought a smaller size (for travel) and the lip butter which is fantastic!!! i have 2!!! I love the consistency of the product and the fact that it moisturizes my dry skin in the winter and keeps it moisturized for hours without feeling greasy. And the best part, the scent last for hours too. Its soo creamy it reminds me of coconut whip cream, yum, it melts into the skin and leaves a beautiful glow to the skin. There are three size containers, the one pictured would be the second size. The smallest size is the one that is perfect for traveling, the second one has a pump and the biggest size comes in a tube, similar to the travel size. The only downside would be that it might be too heavy during summer, but when fall /winter comes its a perfect treat.

This designer, Maria Lucia Hohan, just happens to be one of my all time favorite designers. And this is another collection of hers that I adore :D. She makes such feminine clothes, I love how airy they are and how she uses fabrics and textures. In this collections she uses a lot of pastels, but what impresses me is that unique detail, the peacock belt. Its a pop of color on a pastel canvas. The middle outfit happens to be my personal favorite, but that's just cuz i have a thing for lace details :D, its a gorgeous dress.

Tinted to perfection

I must say, that I am not the biggest fan when it comes to tinted foundations. They have a great concept, moisturize and cover in one simple step, yet many just leave you with an unflattering color. But, I believe I may have come accross a product that is worth its time in the spotlight! Laura Mercier's tinted moisturizer (pic from lauramercier.com) ....yes, i adore the product. Just make sure that you get the right color, I got a shade darker than my skintone, but yay for fake tanning :D, and now it matches my skintone perfectly. I still apply moisturizer before it, but thats more out of habit than need. I have dry skin, but it absorbs nicely into my skin, I have had no problems with it rubbing off, which is another plus. It also gives a nice dewy finish that I simply adore in the spring/summer days. It's one of those products that you want to wear when the weather is nice and you just want a bit of coverage. It would look great with a neutral eye or a red lip for instant day glamour.

I love the simplicity of the first dress, the contrast of the two colors make the details stand out. However, I think a more colorful shoe is needed; something bold or dramatic. If not then maybe a statemet necklace or a bright belt. The look is very clean but a bright accessory would have added some edge.

The second dress, how feminine is that? This dress has such an etheral vibe, its light and airy....great movement in the fabric. Small details and i love that the print is not very strong.

Its perfect for spring.

I love how feminine these are, they are so chic. I am loving the combination of a elegant dress and a more casual shoe, normaly thats a big no, but Criveanu pulls it off. My absolute favorite of the three is the one on the right (full length) ....gorgeous! Its glamorous and the raspberry color is delicious :D. All three have a relatively simple design, what gives them that unique touch is the fact that they each have a focus point.....overall, love.

I am seeing bold lips, bright jackets and belts, heels (must have), and chic and simple up-dos. I applaud those that are finally stepping out of the jean and t-shirt "rule". I wanna see creativity, after all fashion is art.
